I had gotten "Our Earth, Our Cure" around the time it was published,
maybe in the 70s. At that time it was easy to get "french green clay", apparently the same clay that Dextreit used.
The company went through several renames, "Three Sheaves", "Cattier",
and now, if you can find it, it's something else again. I still find some of the clay soaps by this (momentarily forgotten) name, but not the original french green clay.
After experimenting with any and everything for facial cleansing, I always return to the white clay soap----I love it.
My first experiment with the french green clay occurred back in the 70s
when I had one of the children at the pediatrician. On my way out the
door I asked the doc to take a quick look at the "bump" right inside my
eyelid. He told me that it was a cyst and that I should have an eye
surgeon slice the eyelid to remove it. My silent rejoinder to that was
"when hell freezes over"!
I bought a box of "eye patch" shaped bandaids at the drugstore, made a poultice with the clay and covered my eye with it while sleeping. Three nights of this and the cyst vanished.
I do love clay!
I've used it to remove deeply embedded splinters, and bee stingers---------not to mention healing the sting itself.
I've used Sonne's liquid Bentonite off and on--------sometimes "just
because" and sometimes because I know I need to cleanse because of
something I've eaten.
At one time I used to drink the french green clay daily; it's a habit that I somehow got away from, unfortunately.
I have Pascalite, and once or twice a week I'll sprinkle it on the
toothbrush------sometimes by itself and others on top of whatever tooth
cleanser I'm using (no commercial toothpaste).
I've experimented with the Pascalite mask, either the already made up one, or made myself. Whoever warned that it was tightening (somewhere in the Pascalite literature) made the understatement of the year! Before I
try that again I'll have to experiment with a drop or two of oil to ease
the effects.
I have several small bags of a white clay, a rose, and maybe a red---I have to dig these out and play with them.
The clay bath is probably one thing I'll never get to because of the
terrible tub in this house. A real builder's tiny cheapie in a dark corner, it's just not conducive to bathing in!
I'd love to hear more examples of how all of you use clay, and what
varieties you like. _________________ ~ Jason
