Hello again!

I was also wondering why you use a combination of so many clays?
Are there some major benefits with combining them?

You wouldn't possibly know what kind of montmorillonite Argiletz is selling, would you? Eg. calcium montmorillonite.

And my last question has to do with the aluminium in clay, isn't any of this absorbed by the body, or is the mechanism of clays such that they only absorb junk from the body without "giving" away any of their minerals???

Thanks

Hi Relaxo!

All good questions.

I'm not certain about the montmorillonite that Argiletz sells. I tried it once, and I didn't much care for it, so I didn't investigate it further. This is only a matter of **personal** preference; I'm sure it's a fine clay.

I have reasons for using each clay that I mix together. For internal use, I won't give up sodium bentonite, because it seems to do a far better job of cleansing the intestines/colon. I have a few calcium and calcium sodium bentonites I use, and I simply won't emit them because of the great experiences I've had.

I add the illite because it is so different than the montmorillonites. It seems to have a different detoxification effect than the montmorillonites. I can feel the effect throughout my entire body.

I don't think that everyone "should" or "has to" mix clays. Many people find one source that works well for them, and that is perfectly fine. However, I also don't feel that people should approach the subject of clays with the attitude that any one clay is necessary superior than another, and certainly not by comparing the minerals.

I enjoy collecting, experimenting and continuing to utilize clays that work well for me, in the same manner some people collect and drink fine wines from around the world.

The clays release sodium ions, calcium ions, potassium ions, magnesium ions, etc. ( of course, when these elements are present in the clay being used ), in exchange for the substances they sorpt.

When a clay reaches its sorption limit, then it will begin to radiate substances it has sorpted. This is why one should be careful with handling clay prior to use.

The amazing thing about a good healing clay is how it always seems to take actions within and on the body that are beneficial to the body.

As an example, using sodium bentonite internally has been shown to cause an increase in the adsorption of nutrients. Numerous studies have been done with animals that demonstrate this.

Also, again with animal studies, weight loss occurs when the body is over-toxic ( as in the case of a study done with Cesnium poisoning ). However, healthy livestock gain muscle mass when taking a bentonite supplement added to animal feed.

This "dual-mechanism" response is very typical with clay use, due to the fact that that clay acts as a catalyst.

To highlight this, I've seen near-surface cancers "dissolved" by use of clay poutlices. I've also seen cancerous tumors literally pulled out of the body by clay ( this is a long process ). When clay does effect localized cancer ( and it doesn't always ), it is obviously the body's own immune system which takes the action.

The aluminum that is part of the clay molecule is completely inert. It will NEVER be absorbed into the body, even if minute amounts clay were to somehow reach the body's active metabolism ( rather than simply being eliminated in the feces ). Is it possible that there is elemental aluminum or homonuclear aluminum in clay? Yes, it is possible.

Dr. Richard Anderson, and others, have taken extremely copious amounts of bentonite clay internally. Then, using hair analysis ( which is not my favorite testing procedure ) demonstrated that either normal, or lower than normal amounts of aluminum existed in-body.

Melisa testing has confirmed the same thing ( see our page on mercury toxicity ).

People who have this concern should not let fear and worry rule their decision making process. If it is a concern, then why not spend a few extra dollars and have testing done?

Natural health is about taking personal responsibility, empowering the self to overcome carelessness ( people without care ), worry and doubt.

Kind Regards,

Jason
