I don't know for catarracts but we have used a clay pack on eyes with excellent success several times. My husband was told that there was something wrong with his eyes and he needed to see a specialist. We put a poultice of clay on his eyes the night before and the next day the Dr. said he could find nothing 'wrong'. That was years ago. Another friend of ours was having trouble with the retina and after using a clay poultice he had to go back to his old glasses for the new ones were much too strong. We have also used the wet clay laid on the closed eyes to 'draw out' foreign substances from the eye.
