Hi Nina:
It's possible, but not very convenient!
You can grind the clay down by hand using a small mortar/pestle "pot". It's a time consuming process.
You can also try adding very small amounts of water to the granular clay, and then allow the clay to begin to dry. Depending on the clay being used ( if the water actually penetrates enough of the clay ), this can cause tiny fissures, that effectively break the clay up as it dries. _________________ ~ Jason
