I have been thinking hard about placing this letter on the forum - there is such a fine line between what comes from your heart and what can be considered as commercially motivated. However, the thoughts in this letter do come from my heart. The person contacted me through a networking forum asking to tell her more about the Rapan products. I started typing the reply, but it was coming not from my head, but from my heart, out of passion for all simple and most powerful natural remedies such as clays, muds, minerals, etc. I hope I was able to convey my passion in the letter, and I hope those of you who read it will take it the way it was meant to be. Love to all. Galina
Here is the letter:
"Hi Yvette!
It is good to hear from you. I started promoting the products out of passion I developed for muds and clays and everything connected with minerals. Minerals have been on earth long before any kind of living organisms appeared. We are built of minerals. So it won't be an exaggeration to say that minerals are the building blocks of life, not the proteins - the proteins are the product of mineral synthesis (carbon, oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, sulphur). All organic substances were formed as a result of the synthesis of inorganic, mineral elements. Without minerals life would not exist. The human body contains almost all of the elements in the Periodic Table. We even need tiny doses of radioactive elements!
Clays and muds are the richest natural sources of minerals available to us. They provide nutrition to plants, and through plants into the food chain and our bodies. Besides, both animals and people actually benefit from consuming clays internally. Yes, there are clay drinkers, and I am one of them! Read about it - there are articles on my website. There is also an excellent website on clays which is the best source for those interested in clays and minerals:
www.eytonsearth.org.
Minerals get into the body not just directly via the food chain and direct consumption, but also through the skin. The skin has an ability to absorb various substances (remember how the cigarette patches work?). Minerals can get into the body through the skin. Rapan products are used by working on the body systems through the skin (I would not take them in internally - they are quite sandy and salty due to a high salt content). This property has been used by medical spas in Russia to address a lot of conditions, and successfully manage them! They include skin problems (psoriasis, dermatitis, acne, blemishes, congested, lifeless skin), stress-related problems (anxiety, body aches & pains, fatigue, headaches, neurosis - the products are very high in magnesium and quite high in bromide - natural tranquillisers. Magnesium is vital for many bodily functions and muscle relaxation and the majority of people are deficient in this really important mineral).
The products have been researched as being very high in fat/water-soluble antioxidants and their precursors (carotenoids, retinoids) - 5 times higher than Dead Sea products . Retinoids have been recently proclaimed as being the only effective remedy against ageing skin.
But I personally look at the products as something very holistic. If we are healthy inside, beauty comes naturally. There is also a psychological aspect here. The earth is the essence of life. We come from it, we live off it, we go back into it. It is primitive, simple, and it contains everything we need. We must use it to our advantage.
As a post-scriptum. I think there are too many over-complicated remedies these days. Starting with medications which address the disease by masking the symptom. Doctors are not taught to look deeper into the root of the problem. As a person who works with the human mind, you know that so many diseases these days have a psychological origin.
Even when we look at the so-called 'natural' products. Many of them are not quite natural - some contain man-made substances, many are over-complicated in their component structure. The beauty industry is even worse. Look at those over-priced, overloaded with (even natural) ingredients new remedies! Natural is not always the best.
Another factor - skin is the reflection of what is happening inside our bodies. If the body is diseased, the skin will show it, and no amount of hyaluronic acid applied to it is going to help.
I think we need to get back to basics, use what Mother Nature has given us in abundance. Do you know that sea/river sand and the earth in the garden can be a way to address a variety of problems? So can sea water. We need to use what is under our feet, what is given to us by nature and is free to all.
I will finish here. I wish you all the best.
By the way - if you want to know more about the Rapan products, please go here:
http://www.naturalrussia.com/pdfs/Ebook-Rapan-New.pdf
This is the book that I wrote on the basis of the research materials provided to me by the manufacturer of the products.
It contains all the information available to me at the moment - both practical and scientific. If you have any questions, please get back to me.
Keep in touch anyway!
Love
Galina" _________________ Galina St George
