| Hi -- I placed 4 cups of water over 2 cups of Montmorillonite and the clay was fully hydrated in just a few minutes. However there are several inches of excess water over the prepared clay. Clearly this was not the right ratio for this type of clay. I want to make clay packs. Does anybody know the correct proportion of water and clay? Thanks! |

Greetings:
With non-swelling clays, the ratio is usually one part water to one part clay.
Kind Regards,
