Following is a brief summary of the results of a scientific research of the use of blue clays to treat lymphatic disorders and facilitate lymphatic drainage. The research was conducted by the Scientific Research Institute of Clinical and Experimental Lymphology of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk. The resuslt of the research have been recorded by Y.V.Tysyachnova in the collection of articles "The Role of Sanatoria in the Rehabilitation of the Population of Siberia", Novosibirsk.

Scientific experiments were conducted on white male rats with a modulated state of lympho-venous deficiency which is the most wide-spread functional disease of the lower extremities (legs). The blue clay in the experiment was used in the form of baths during an acute and chronic stage. The course of treatments involved 10 procedures. The object of research was the popliteal lymphatic node situated behind the knee. The result of these procedures was intensification of lymph drainage and the detoxifying function of the node.

This has led the research group to make a conclusion that blue clay promotes lymphatic drainage in the skin and can be used by sanatoria to stimulate lymphatic drainage and detoxification in patients in the form of body wraps, showers, sauna procedures, in combination with algae, thalassotherapy, baths, compresses and other application methods. I will write more about the scientific research of Rapan and Russian peloids soon.
