I have a question:
When I take clay baths, I sometimes develop itchy hives in many parts of my body. They are really itchy. I do not think I am allergic to the clay I use because i also use it for clay facials and I do not have any hive breakout on my face at all, never.
I also used the clay on my forearms and never had any hives break out at all. Never.
I am just wondering if these are the toxins being pulled out by the clay bath and are still in the process of being expelled even after I leave the clay bath.
When I take the magma clay bath, (see my earlier post), I do not have any hives breaking out at all.
If I take a watery clay bath, i tend to have these hives and the only difference between these two kinds of bath is aside from the amount of clay used, I add hydrogen peroxide to the watery clay bath and I do not do that for the magma bath.
I am not worried about the hives because they go away by the morning and never last for more than a few hours. However, they are irritating because they are really itchy.
I also get hives occasionally even if I do not take a clay bath but I noticed that these hives are more aggressive after a clay bath.
Any comments from readers? |

Hi -
That is really interesting.
I SUSPECT that the reaction you are getting is actually due to the hydrogen peroxide. The same thing can happen with ozone steam sauna therapy.
The H2O2 breaks down toxic substances, but does not isolate them from the body, and the immune system can certainly react to this process.
Oxygen therapies and clay therapy both work to detoxify the body, but the actions are quite different.
You would probably find, that if, after the bath, you put clay gel (or magma) on the hives, that the irritation would be eliminated quickly.
It is also possible that if you use the clay on the irritated areas of the body long enough, that the areas may stop breaking out. I've seen this. I'm not certain if it is because the clay works to permanently address teh toxicity, or if the clay action results in the immune system regulation... Meaning, the immune system stops over-reacting to the detoxification process.
However, if there is something in the individual diet that the body is reacting to, then it is likely that the breakouts will continue no matter what an indivdiual does; in such a case, clay use on the effected areas still would provide relief. |
