Hi everyone, I found this forum to look for an answer to a question, but after poking around here i think i will be staying
I recently bought my first CS machine (SG6A Sivergen) and have used it several times with great results.
My problem is when my girlfriend wanted to try it, she did not remember that she cannot wear silver jewelry because it gives her a rash.
Obviously, she's allergic. And she took a few gulps of it... not more than 2 or 3 Oz. though.
Now she has patches of painful, itchy whelps moving throughout her body. It's on her face, her arms... everywhere.
How long will this last, and what can I do to help her? |

Just a quick update... The whelps have stopped moving but are still hurting like hell and are puffy and red. My hope is that they are being pushed out. Poor thing says she feels like the elephant man because of the swelling. Please help!
Not all at once either |

Hi atlantistwo, while you are waiting for a reply from those concerned I'll just pick up on the silver allergy part of your post. I'm not sure if I should be saying anything on here you see.
This may not necessarily be an allergy to silver, it's more likely the nickel content in the silver, cosmetic jewellery contains nickel and that's usually what causes skin issues to wearers of silver jewellery.
Silver allergy is not impossible of course, but it's not that common, so unless you know for sure the person is allergic to silver, I would be assuming it's the nickel primarily.
Cheers. |

Yes it is extremely rare. So rare in fact that I have found nothing on the internet anywhere about how to deal with it. Not even Benadryl cream worked at all. It was extremely painful for her.
Also this is pure .999 silver being used in a Silvergen SG6A CS machine using distilled water at 5PPM. There is no nickel.
Her reactions are starting to slack off a bit, suggesting to us that the silver is being pushed out of her body. We are all breathing a collective sigh and keeping our fingers crossed that this trend continues.
She thought that the whelps on her face were going to leave permanent scarring... But so far so good. |

Yep, I know there is no nickel in the silver you are using, it's in sterling silver which is used for jewellery purposes.
Because you are still waiting for a reply I may just add another bit...
Generally, any waste or toxins etc which may be present in the body are usually eliminated by urine, faeces or skin and perhaps, if the person concerned has never taken colloidal silver before, the eliminating organs in the body may have been 'overloaded' trying to flush pathogens and/or toxins etc, and this overload was evidenced by skin erupions or rashes or the whelts you speak of. I can't say for sure of course, but I do know that if the body is unable to eliminate or flush these toxins etc readily then other symptoms may become apparent. I suggest you do some research on the "Herxheimers Reaction" if you have not already done so.
I only say this because I believe I had this "Herxheimer Reaction" when I first started to ingest cs on a daily basis years ago, against all I had researched I was stupid enough to take a rather large amoung each day, (back then that is, I don't take the same amount now), straight off and I felt decidedly unwell for about 4 days, one of my daughters even said I looked yellow. My kidneys and liver must have been working overtime for a while there I guess <grin>. My other daughter developed a rash on the skin also, after ingesting cs for a while to eliminate an infection in an open wound, unbeknown to me at the time though she continued to take cs in some volume for a time after the wound had healed! I told her to stop ingesting cs as the infection was long gone, and the rash then went away. Research I have done over the years suggests that skin rash can occur and can indicate an excess of silver in the system also.
From what you are saying, I don't think there is anything to worry about if everything is starting to settle down now. I don't know if your plan is to take cs every day, but if so, then I would be starting with a small dose, taking in plenty of water throughout the day to assist in the 'flushing' process for a week or so, and slowly build up to the level you are thinking of taking.
Hope these couple of examples, or personal anecdotes, help til someone gets back to you. |

Judging by the almost total lack of discussion here (More than one of you could have said hello at least), I would guess that not many people have run across this problem before. Granted, it's not one that many people will have since
Luckily she's ok. Most, if not all of the swelling has gone down, and she is back at work. We were really scared for a while.
Thankfully this forum has redeeming qualities like good information. Hospitality does not seem to be one of them.
Thank you ino for your responses. I really appreciate it +1
I look forward to talking with you in the future. |

| This might not inevitably be an allergy to shiny, it's more probable the nickel content in the shiny, cosmetic jewelery comprises nickel and that's generally what determinants skin matters to wearers of shiny jewelery. |

| If you develop rashes on the area where your skin came in contact with metal, no doubt that you have allergic contact dermatitis to nickel. Allergic contact dermatitis is the skin’s allergic reaction to something it touches. The allergy manifests as an itchy red rash that is not only painful but can make you self-conscious as well, especially if the rash is in a place that is impossible to conceal. Nickel is a common cause of allergic skin rashes, it can be found in materials made of metal such as jewelry, items that you wear, accessories and personal articles, watch straps, cigarette lighters, keys, key rings, metal items at home, silver coins, or items at work. |
