Hello! I am a recovering heroin addict with 2 yrs clean in a Methadone Maintenance Program and actively detoxing off. (Was on 150mg daily - down to 50mg daily) I want to start taking calcium bentonite internally to not only purify; but also to help me with this weaning process. Do you have any recommendations on dosage; type of clay; how often etc. I don't want it to interfere with the absorption of my medication. But I am not at all familiar with this stuff...Is there a special time of day to ingest it. Any tips you could give me etc.... Any advice would be great!

Greetings!
Healing clays don't like synthetic drugs like methadone, heroin, and "crystal meth" Methamphetamine ( forgive the liberal use of personification ).
If possible, take a tablespoonful mixed with water first thing in the morning, or seperate four hours from the time you use the methadone.
Although I realize how tough it would be, you might be better off finding a comfortable couch to crash on for a few weeks, finding a desert sodium bentonite to mix with your water, quitting the methadone, and flooding the body with this clay water, and also plenty of fresh lemon water.
Physical symptoms of methadone or heroin withdrawal will usually last between 10 and 21 days.
Of course, this would only apply to methadone use due to a recreational drug habit, which is quite different from methadone use medically prescribed for other conditions.
Of course, always check with your MD and apply super-common sense; listen to the body.
Kind Regards, |

Thanks for the advice! A question for you -- What is desert sodium bentonite? I didn't think it was good to ingest the sodium
See my goal is to get off the methadone the right way - slow & steady wins the race with Methadone Maintenance. I have seen too many get off quick; or like you said, try to tough it out....and they end up back in the streets seeking a fix. NOT I! I work full time, and do not have time to self-detox, even if I was willing to risk my 2 years clean - and my life. (which I am not willing to risk that)
See, I ordered calcium bentonite to assist in getting all the inpurities outta my system - Methadone included. So many people are on methadone for the rest of their lives - I do not want that - I have hit a plateau recently and want to start reducing my dose again - I really think from all I have read that healing clays may do the trick
Treating it as any other medication -- How is it recommended you take bentonite clay & water with medications - I know right now I am doing a colon cleanse (COLONIX) and with it I take it one hr after my dose. I only take the methadone first thing in the AM between 7 and 8am -- I read that they recommend you take calcium bentonite right before bed cuz your body digests the most at night -- Is that true? WHat do you think Will I be ok taking this
Thanks

Greetings, Purity:
Understood...
My personal experience is that green bentonites and green montmorillonites are more powerful for detoxification. A formulation such as V.E. Irons USP Grade Hydrated Bentonite....
Nature's Body Beautiful carries a good green desert clay as well...
Links to Healing Clay websites and products
However, people have reported that products such as Terramin ( a true calcium bentonite ) also work well.
For some people, starting off taking clay in the evening can interfere in your sleeping habits ( when first taking clay ).
The form of sodium in natural clays is not sodium chloride. When on aggressive cleansing protocols, the body needs an abundance of all critical vitamins and minerals. Sodium is one of them, as is potassium, magnesium, and calcium.
If you'd like to try taking the clay at night, that would certainly be fine; the only recommendation I can give you is to be certain to seperate 4 hours between your medication and clay ingestion. |

Greetings!
Each clay is different. Terramin, a calcium bentonte/montmorillonite is red. Pascalite ( another calcium bentonite ) is white.
You can't necessarily tell the type of clay by its color.
