I have a severe candida infection and have started taking Threelac probiotics to begin the recovery process. I would like to use bentonite to help with the detox and heavy metal intoxication but I am not sure if it is safe with probiotics. Do probiotics have a negative charge like clay and are therefore safe to take or does bentonite also sweep away friendly bacteria? I would appreciate information on this subject. Thx!

Hi:

According to research done in the 1970's, you would have to drink/eat an incredible amount of bentonite in order to cause a problem with the flora of the intestines ( over 20% of your total diet would need to be clay ).

Start with a small amount of bentonite mixed in water, taken at least two to three hours apart from taking your probiotics.

Also keep in mind, however, that taking bentonite internally can cause an exteriorization of any existing problems in the digestive system. Just listen to your body's response, and adjust your use according to the need/response.
