I'm not sure if I hydrated the clay properly... I got the edible bentotite clay from Mountain Rose Herbs. A waste for external use???
I filled a glass jar with 1 part clay and 4 part water and left alone for 5+ days. The clay swelled to double its size with the top part being very gelly. I drained out the water (about 2 parts), and save most of the gelly part to make a compress, what's left are barely hydrated dense clay. I use that to make the poultice with an occasional dab of the gelly to glue everything together.
I left a 1/2" clay poultice on my arm overnite (8-10hrs) and its still very moist the next morning. There's no sign of the clay drying up. Is that normal even though the clay is quite dense and barely hydrated?
-thx in advance, tie |

I've never heard of clay turning to jelly, but then I know very little about clay. I came here for answers, just like you.
Where did you get the instructions to mix the clay with water and leave it set for 5 days? Did that come from this website?
Someone more knowledgeable about clay will have to answer this. _________________ Clay-basket
