I am glad to find an egroup on clay. I have been using a clay substance (bentonite) internally since August of 1999, often in extraordinary dosages of 8 to 14 level tablespoons or so at once. I mix this high dose of clay (I am using Sonne's #7 here) with two to two and a half heaping teaspoons of psyllium and plenty of water. I always insure that I have an empty stomach when I take such a mixture (by using HCL a number of hours prior, which is necessary for me as I am hypocloridic). In addition to this, whenever I take such high dosages of clay/psyllium, I find it wise, if not absolutely necessary, to begin a probiotics replacement program about six hours or so after I take such a large cleansing dose (I start high dose probiotics as soon as I feel sure that the clay/psyllium mixture has left my stomach and is headed down my intestines.

I don't have ulcerative colitis, Crohn's, or any other bowel or intestinal problem which contraindicates the use of the above. I weigh about 165 lbs., medium frame (5' 9").

Clay, taken in the above way, has been an absolute miracle for me. It is a key foundation step for me to resolve depressive symptoms in myself, no matter what degree their severity (I use glutamine, then high dose amino acids, raw veggie juices, etc. afterward).

It appears that I can treat a rather serious yeast/intestinal dysbiosis state in myself in the above manner with either a mimimal or no die off reaction whatsoever (whatever little I have I rather readily resolve with high dose vitamin C).

As much experience as I have had with taking high dose bentonite clay internally since 8/99 (perhaps a few hundred times), I am of the opinion that either this or a very similar substance is going to be widely used at some point in the future as a crucial foundation step in the treatment of depression in many.

Again, I am very glad to see an egroup on clay. I am very interested in other people's knowledge on the subject of clay compounds used internally to treat/remove yeast, intestinal dysbiosis, excess mucous, under-digested food, etc.

In stating the above, I don't mean for someone to try what I am suggesting here. The high dosages that I have taken (and still take) might represent a serious health risk (or risks) for other persons that I am not aware of. It is always wise to dose up slowly and monitor oneself, before jumping into extreme use such as that which I have suggested here. And always remember to replace your good gut bacteria when using bentonite in the manner I have suggested above.[/b]
