| Hi. I have had eczema above my eyes and on my arm for 15 years. I started applying colloidal silver (3ppm) to the affected areas with a Q-tip. However, I have been reading about Argyria, and I am very nervous about continuing the supplement. Should I worry about applying 3ppm of colloidal silver everyday on areas of my skin? I don't want to turn into a silver guy... All the best |

Greetings:
There is extremely little risk of acquiring argyria with a 3 PPM colloidal silver used topically. Cosmetic argyria is caused by excessive amounts of silver ingested into the body. The silver complexes with proteins and then becomes lodged beneath the skin.
Even silver sulfadiazine, with comparatively massive amounts of silver salts, poses little risk when used on wounds.
Localized argyria from topical exposure to silver has, rarely, occured. However, the likelyhood of acquiring localized argyria is far greater with wearing silver-containing earings, than with using a 3PPM electrically isolated silver on the skin.
I've personally used properly made EIS on the skin for over eight years.
